Super Bowl 2021 is almost here and all football fans will be making their predictions about the Super Bowl scores. Can the Kansas City Chiefs reclaim their Super Bowl title of last year, or will Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers cause a big upset in the Super Bowl odds? Our guide will tell you all about the biggest game in the NFL. So if you’ve got a question like ‘When is the Super Bowl?’, keep reading our guide below.

All about Super Bowl 2021

This year’s Super Bowl date is February 7. The NFL’s biggest game will be played at the 66,000 capacity Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, although it is expected to be only 20% full due to Covid-19 restrictions.

When is the Super Bowl kick off time? The big game will begin at 6.30 ET, although there will be many hours of build-up before, and of course, there’ll be plenty of expectation about everything from the Super Bowl commercials to the Super Bowl halftime show.

The Super Bowl halftime show 2021 will feature The Weeknd. The pop star will be following on from other famous halftime performers like Lady Gaga, Beyonce and Justin Timberlake. Just so you know, the cost of a Super Bowl advert last year was $5.6 million, so it’s anybody’s guess what it will be for the biggest Super Bowl commercials 2021 has to offer.

One of the biggest questions alongside ‘When is the Super Bowl?’ is that of who’ll be broadcasting the game. If you say the word Super Bowl ‘On what channel?’ is probably the main thing that most football fans will say next. In Canada, you’ll get to watch the action on CTV, while CBS will be covering Super Bowl 2021 in the States.

What can we expect from the Super Bowl halftime show?

For many people, the Super Bowl halftime show is almost more important than the gridiron action itself. This year’s performer – The Weeknd – has plenty of legendary performances to live up to. Recent years have featured stars like Beyonce who’ve delivered timely political messages in their Super Bowl halftime shows. Even Janet Jackson’s ‘wardrobe malfunction’ managed to get more attention than the big game.

A good Super Bowl halftime performance can pretty much make or break a pop star’s career. With over 100 million people expected to watch Super Bowl 2021, The Weeknd will be hoping to emulate the success of star performers like Lady Gaga, rather than duds such as Maroon 5.

How will Super Bowl 2021 work in the pandemic?

The Covid-19 pandemic has caused it to be the strangest football season of all-time. Beyond all of the rescheduled games and remote press conferences, the absence of fans has been the most notable difference. Each US state has had its own laws about whether fans could attend the football games.

Florida has agreed to allow a limited number of fans to attend sporting events. This means that there will be a 20% capacity in the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. As such, little more than 13,000 fans are expected to be there in person to see Super Bowl 2021.

The NFL has yet to announce exactly how many Super Bowl tickets will be issued. But with Super Bowl ticket prices expected to range between $7,000 and $22,000, it’s not going to be cheap.

Who will win Super Bowl 2021?

It’s pretty easy to get distracted by all of the drama of the Super Bowl and forget that it’s all about a game of football. The Super Bowl is the pinnacle of the NFL season, and it sees the winner of the AFC Championship taking on the winner of the NFC Championship.

The championship games will be played on Sunday 24 January. As a result, the next Super Bowl champions could either be Kansas City Chiefs, Green Bay Packers, Buffalo Bills or Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Kansas City Chiefs – Last year’s Super Bowl winners

As Kansas City Chiefs were the winners of Super Bowl LIV, it’s no real surprise to see that the team have found themselves in with a great chance of winning Super Bowl LV. The Chiefs completely dominated the AFC East with a winning record of 14-2. Much of this is down to the incredible skills of star quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

However, things nearly fell apart for the Chiefs in their playoff game against the Cleveland Browns. This saw Mahomes succumbing to an ankle injury and then being taken from the field with apparent concussion. As a result, stand-in quarterback Chad Henne had to save the Chiefs’ blushes by producing two big plays to seal the 22-17 win.

The Super Bowl champs will be hoping that Mahomes is able to make a full recovery to guide the Chiefs to victory once more. Early indications are that the quarterback is ‘doing well’, and should be able to be there at the Super Bowl kick off and is hoped to be there to help the Chiefs beat the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship game.

It’s a game that the Chiefs are widely expected to win. Andy Reid’s team beat the Bills 26-17 in October 2020 and it was another excellent game for Mahomes with 225 passing yards and two touchdowns. Running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire was in fine form with 161 rushing years, while Travis Kelce picked up two touchdown passes.

This shows how there is much more to the Chiefs than just the formidable presence of Mahomes. Tyreek Hill is arguably one of the best wide receivers in the game and Travis Kelce is an equally adaptable tight end. Given the offensive power of Kansas City Chiefs, it’s little surprise that the team’s defensive unit sometimes gets overlooked.

But any defensive line featuring Chris Jones and Frank Clark is going to take some beating, while safety Tyrann Mathieu has a proven record for stopping any team’s passing game. All of which means that Kansas City Chiefs are looking good to become the eighth team to win two consecutive Super Bowls.

Green Bay Packers – Favourites in the Super Bowl odds

After a relatively disappointing last season, the Packers are looking much stronger this time around. Green Bay emerged as clear victors of the NFC North with a 13-3 winning record. Much of this is down to star quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The 37-year old has been in commanding form this NFL season, and he’ll probably be a key feature of many Super Bowl prop bets.

Rodgers led the way in many quarterback statistics this season. He threw 40 passing touchdowns which were the most in the league, along with just four interceptions, again the lowest in the league. As such, it was little surprise to find that Rodgers earned the ninth Pro Bowl selection of his career.

The link-up play between Rodgers and wide receiver Davante Adams has been a big part of the Packers’ success this time around. Plus Aaron Jones has been in fine form in picking up important rushing yards when it counts.

For a while, there were some questions about the power of the Packers’ defence. But any team that boasts a legendary linebacker like Za’Darius Smith is clearly going to take some beating.

Matt LaFleur’s team bulldozed their way to an NFL Championship spot opposite Tampa Bay Buccaneers by beating Los Angeles Rams 32-18. It was yet another emphatic display by Aaron Rodgers who picked up 296 passing yards, while the combined force of running backs Jamaal Williams and Aaron Jones kept the Packers in control. All of which means that Green Bay Packers are currently the favourites to succeed out of all of the potential Super Bowl teams.

Buffalo Bills – Dark horses in the Super Bowl predictions

What a year it’s been for Buffalo Bills. After years of being the NFL’s perennial underachievers, the Bills have their best-ever chance of winning their first Super Bowl. It’s been a long work in progress for Sean McDermott’s team, but the Bills have been in commanding form for much of the season.

Buffalo topped the AFC East with a 13-3 record. This featured some incredible scorelines such as a 38-9 thrashing of New England Patriots, a 26-15 victory over Pittsburgh Steelers, a 34-24 win over San Francisco 49ers and an incredible 44-34 triumph over Seattle Seahawks.

But the Bill’s biggest game came in the play-off rounds where they produced a gutsy performance to beat Baltimore Ravens 17-3. While it wasn’t the prettiest game, the sight of Taron Johnson intercepting Lamar Jackson to get a 101-yard touchdown will live long in the memories of all Bills fans.

Buffalo’s defence managed to dominate Jackson, and the quarterback’s legendary rushing skills were kept to just 34 yards. But the Bills have a nicely rounded team with many contenders to some good Super Bowl betting props.

All eyes will be on quarterback Josh Allen, but wide receivers Andre Roberts and Stefon Diggs have been in exceptional form this year. Cornerback Tre’Davious White and linebacker Tremaine Edmunds are also worthy of a decent Super Bowl bets prop.

This means that Buffalo are now gearing up to play their first AFC Championship game in over 25 years. While it’s against the formidable likes of Kansas City Chiefs, with questions about Patrick Mahomes’ fitness, there’s enough spirit in this Buffalo team to see them at this year’s Super Bowl.

Of course, the Bills are no stranger to the Super Bowl. Unfortunately, Buffalo have been on the wrong end of the Super Bowl scores in the past, with four-straight Super Bowl losses between 1991 and 1994. But while history might be against the Bills, there is little denying that Sean McDermott’s team are the dark horses of this year’s NFL campaign.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Brady ready to cause an upset

Few people would have guessed that Tampa Bay Buccaneers would make it to Super Bowl 2021. Even when the team managed to get legendary quarterback Tom Brady to join from the New England Patriots, it still looked like the Buccaneers would struggle to get out of the AFC South.

But after a difficult start, Bruce Arians’ team finally made good and ended up the regular season behind New Orleans Saints with a commendable 11-5. Once the Buccaneers had dispatched Washington 31-23 in the wildcard round, they faced the Saints in the divisional round and produced an exceptional 30-20 win.

This fascinating battle between the two all-time greats of Tom Brady and Drew Brees saw Brady emerging victorious to claim his 14th conference championship game while Brees seemingly retired after throwing three interceptions.

For anybody watching the Super Bowl NFL stars like Tom Brady are an essential part of the action, and all eyes will be on the 43-year old to claim his seventh Super Bowl title.

It’s debatable as to whether the Buccaneers have the all-round strength to match Brady’s ability, and Bruce Arians’ team will have to put in their performance of the season to beat Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship game. But one thing’s clear and that’s if Brady is on the pitch, then anything can happen.
