The Tennessee Titans will play their road game at FedEx Field against the Washington Commanders on Sunday, October 9, with betting lines and odds favoring the Titans to win.
The Titans are on a 2-2 overall record and a two-game winning streak. They finished their last two games with victories against the Las Vegas Raiders (17-24) in Week 3 and the Indianapolis Colts (24-22) in Week 4.
Meanwhile, the Commanders are on a three-game losing streak after suffering a 25-10 loss against the Dallas Cowboys last week. The Commanders were defeated 36-27 by the Detroit Lions in Week 2 and 8-24 by the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 3.
With the game results, the Titans are currently sitting in second place in AFC South, while the Commanders are at the bottom of the NFC East.
Ahead of this game, the Titans are covered on a 1.5-point spread, while the Commanders are the underdog, as revealed by DraftKings’ betting odds.
The moneyline also favors the Titans with a -130 and the Commanders sitting at +110.
Despite both teams being listed as low-scoring teams over the league, DraftKings Nation predicts that the Titans will likely snatch and extend their win streak to a three-game winning streak, thanks to their offense quality.
Currently, in their scoring offense, the Titans are ranked 21st with an average of 18.8 points per game, slightly better than the No. 25 Commanders, with an average of 18.3 points per game.
Washington’s defense is giving up 26.8 points per game, making them the only team to be ranked in the bottom 10 in both categories.
Jordan Dajani of CBS Sports shared his thoughts on the Commanders’ recent performances. He said that they went from an intriguing team to watch to one of the worst franchises in the league.
He described that Washington showed a “new sexy offense” through the first two out of four weeks of the regular season, however, they only managed to score 18 points in their last two games.
According to DraftKings Nation, both teams may use their defensive play to secure the final score and results. Regardless, the Titans are still favored by the odds to outperform the Commanders.
One player to look for, according to DraftKings picks, is the Titans ‘running back Derrick Henry. Henry is predicted to gain over 85.5 rushing yards with odds at -115, based on DraftKings player prop.
This season, Henry has played four games and carried the ball 76 times for 306 rushing yards. He claimed three TDs while only fumbling for once, adding his strong performance of 76.5 yards gained per game.
He racked up eight receptions for 91 receiving yards when utilized as a wideouts player in the Titans’ offensive playbook.
Henry’s effectiveness on the ground was proved by his season-high record of 114 rushing yards gained in Week 4 when the Titans beat the Colts. In that game, Henry totaled 85+ rushing yards, and DraftKings favored him to do so for the upcoming game against Commanders.
In addition, as observed by DraftKings, the Commanders’ defense, which allowed 112 rushing yards per game, could be a chance for success for Henry to display his over 85 rushing yards gained performance.
The game is set to begin at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, and Henry is projected to steal the show given his outstanding performance this month.
