By now you’ll know that online sports betting is legal in Louisiana and there are some great sportsbooks to try. But keep reading to see which online sportsbooks could be coming to the Pelican State!
The good news is that there is still lots of space for Louisiana sportsbooks who legally want to launch in the state. But which sportsbooks will get the green light from the Louisiana Gaming Control Board? Take a look below and see who are the online sportsbooks most likely to launch in the Pelican State!
Online sports betting in Louisiana went live on 28 January, 2022, but there were only a handful of sportsbooks to choose from.
At the time of writing there are still only six online sportsbooks in the Pelican State. This contrasts with the fact that the Louisiana Gaming Control Board has the power to issue licenses to 40 mobile betting apps. Here are some of the frontrunners for being the next online sportsbook to launch in Louisiana:
PointsBet: You might not have heard of PointsBet, but you will do soon. This is an online sportsbook with Australian origins, but is actually pretty good at betting on everything from the NFL to the NBA. PointsBet has already proven to be a big hit everywhere from Colorado and Iowa to Virginia and Michigan, and we can imagine it doing the same in LA.
WynnBET: A huge sportsbook already working wonders in Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Michigan, New Jersey, Tennessee, and Virginia, it’s only a matter of time before WynnBET comes to the Pelican State:
Fox Bet: Love it or loathe it, Fox Bet is getting busy in other US states like New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Colorado. We can easily imagine it coming to Louisiana.
Golden Nugget: Already popular in New Jersey, Michigan, Virginia and West Virginia, it’s easy to see Golden Nugget following Caesars in making the switch from casino gaming to sports betting in the Pelican State.
Bally Bet: So far, Bally Bet has been concentrating its efforts in states like Colorado, Indiana, Iowa and Virginia. However, we think that it could easily make a move to head south to Louisiana.
We’re hopeful that some of the above sportsbooks might launch in Louisiana in the coming months. But until then, you can get some practice in by betting at some of these legal online sportsbooks in the Pelican State!
FanDuel: Get an awesome Super Bowl deal for signing up to FanDuel LA.
BetRivers: Tempting $250 deposit match bonus for new LA customers.
DraftKings: Major DFS brand, DraftKings launches in LA with $1,050 bonus deal.
BetMGM: Get a handy $1,000 risk free bet for signing up to BetMGM LA.
Barstool: Promising newcomer packed full of sports betting promos.
Caesars: Well known in Louisiana and sure to continue with huge deals like its $1,500 deposit bonus.
